PLANO
Plano is the music project of Rodrigo Casarín and Juan Andrés Vergara. In 2020, they came as two new names in the bands scene of Mexico City, but with a musical background of 15 years that included radio work, DJ sets, music for films, commercials, classical music and songwriting for pop artists.
Plano's sound could be described as the kind of music that makes your knee move without having to hit the dance floor. It's uniform on the surface but with several layers of depth that unfold: electronic elements, live instruments, imperfect samples, and androgynous vocals.
In 2023, Plano published their debut album “Plano” compiling their singles and showcasing the different angles of the project; as well as the "DJ Friendly" EP in which they show their most danceable side with the touch of variety of producers.
Plano has covered with both their live act and DJ set a good part of the most renowned festivals from their country like Trópico, Machaca, Live Out, EDC and Vaivén.
Apart from their original music, they have remixed artists like Midnight Generation, Rey Pila, and Hello Seahorse! They also have collaborated with Gil Cerezo (Kinky), Sobrino, Tonga Conga, Lee Flame and Mathilde Sobrino.
Their music has been featured in film and TV, with "Regresar" appearing in the Netflix movie "Anónima," which reached the national charts on Shazam. Additionally, "Vámonos" and "Regresar" are featured in the series "Ella camina sola" on VIX. They have also been covered by media from Mexico, USA and South America, such as Ibero 909, Sopitas, Time Out Mexico, NPR World Cafe and Vice Noisey; with some songs in their "best of the year" shortlists.
With over 4 million streams and having every release featured in editorial playlists from either Spotify, Amazon or Apple Music, they continue gaining presence with audience and working on new music to release in 2024.
